Studio #104: Elizabeth Anyaa

Textile artist Elizabeth Anyaa uses natural fibers and fabrics, such as silk and wool to creating original designs for home and apparel art. Her techniques include hand weaving and silk paint; however, felting, the oldest form of fabric manufacturing, is her trademark.

Anyaa admires the many aspects of felt. She sees its fluidity in clothing and throws; its solid and structural element in lamps, vessels and floor rugs; its simple nature in coasters, table cloths, and placemats; and its complex and painterly texture on wall and window art. Most importantly, she enjoys exploring the traditional and contemporary boundaries of practicing textile art.
